Job Summary
Job Title: Forklift Operator / Warehouse Associate
Location: Canaan CT 06018
Duration: 12 Months (possible extension)
Shift: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Shift Rotation
Schedule: Alternating bi-weekly schedule
Week 1: Monday Tuesday Friday Saturday Sunday
Week 2: Wednesday Thursday
Week 2: Wednesday Thursday
(Repeats every two weeks)
Pay Rate: $23.00/hour on W2
Position Overview
We are seeking is seeking a Forklift Operator / Warehouse Associate to support warehouse and material handling operations at its Canaan Connecticut facility. This is a contract opportunity supporting the Supply Chain Management team on a rotating 12-hour day shift schedule.
The ideal candidate will have forklift operating experience basic warehouse knowledge and the ability to work in a fast-paced metric-driven manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently
- Move raw materials parts finished goods and inventory throughout the facility
- Load unload store and transport materials within warehouse and production areas
- Maintain accurate inventory and material movement records
- Follow all SOPs safety standards and quality guidelines
- Support warehouse and logistics operations in a metric-driven environment
- Perform routine warehouse tasks including lifting pulling pushing and stocking materials
- Use basic computer systems for inventory and operational tracking
- Communicate effectively with team members supervisors and leads
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous forklift operating experience preferred
- 0 1 year of warehouse logistics or manufacturing experience
- Ability to read write and understand English
- Basic math and computer skills
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment
Physical Requirements
The position requires frequent:
- Standing and walking
- Lifting and carrying materials
- Stooping kneeling crouching and balancing
- Pulling pushing twisting and reaching
- Repetitive hand and wrist movements
- Operating warehouse equipment for extended periods
