Coordinates and manages the manufacturing activities of several areas ensuring to reach the manufacturing volume and quality standards within the approved operation budget. Supervises the production tasks quality and manufacturing engineering.Essential job functions:
1) Primary Responsibilities:
a) Personnel management:
- Participate in the interviewing process for new employees and internal promotions as required.
- Ensure necessary training is available and completed for each employee on an ongoing basis and records are maintained.
- Ensure annual performance evaluations are held with each employee with discussion of goals both short and long term.
- Communicate and counsel with H.R. on special recognition items and disciplinary actions as warranted.
- Ensure all employees are able to perform their job in a safe environment and adhere to safety regulations.
- Active participation and teamwork leading to productive cross-functional meetings.
- Punctual follow-up to internal and external customers on issues that can impact the health of Prisms quality policy and/or company mission.
- Communicate temporary resource needs to HR as needed.
- Assign MROs to plant personnel based on skill level priority expertise and work load as generated daily.
- Review timecards for accuracy approve overtime and scan to HR each Monday.
- Review vacation requests for conflicts approve or deny and scan to HR for retention.
- Coordinate coverage for absenteeism vacation and extended leaves of absence.
b) Methodology Management:
- Develop update and maintain work instructions including but not limited to product realization.
- Perform process audits as outlined by Prisms layered audit process.
- Ensure Prisms LPA process is functioning as a viable tool to drive improvement and sustainability.
- Assert our Continuous Improvement Policy in day-to-day culture and activities.
- Ensure all personnel play an active role in our Corrective and Preventive Actions Policy.
- Maintain a healthy transparent environment to promote NCR generation and sound prevention of recurrence.
- Champion and assist with external customer complaints to bring closure with customer satisfaction.
- Support and assist engineering and corporate quality in GR&R capability studies and all PPAP production readiness procedures as required.
- Provide prompt disposition of suspect product as a result of internal NCR generation.
- Provide prompt disposition and closure to internal NCRs with emphasis on sound prevention.
- Ensure conformity to PPAP process cell set-up parameter tolerances and specific start-up/shut-down procedures as defined and outlined by process development.
- Assist in the development support and management of downstream metrics for shifts that support QOS metrics or are directly related to continuous improvement projects.
- Manage production schedule daily to balance inventory turns and change-over load and communicate with Material Logistics on concerns or special needs.
- Coordinate the sampling schedule in support of Engineering and customer PPAP date.
c) Metric Management and Production Reporting:
- Review disposition and archive production reports daily prior to schedule update at 10:00amEST.
- Assure accurate scrap recording to differentiate lost parts from assignable coding.
- Provide weekly data to report in bi-weekly Operations Team Review Meetings.
- Review monthly reports for data integrity promptly for QOS packet construction.
- Provide corrective actions for monthly metrics that dont meet their objective as outlined on the QOS control plan.
- Provide APQP team with initial serial production data to satisfy production readiness and APQP # 5 requirements to drive project closure or improvement.
2) Secondary Responsibilities:
a) Assist as outlined by your immediate Supervisor for the good of PRISM.
b) Assist in the diagnoses logistics and verification of mold repairs of PRISM.
c) Assist in the diagnoses logistics and verification of equipment repairs of PRISM.
d) Assist in other job related activities to help support a clean safe and efficient organization
Training and Work experience preferred:
- Applicable work experience is preferred.
- Experience with computer and/or computer related systems.
- Quality System Related Experience (preferred)
- Customer Communication Experience (preferred)
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Higher Education Training in Operations Management Related Areas
- Computer Training (preferred)
- Quality System Training
