The selected candidate will join a high performing private business that applies best practice principles and logic to challenges and opportunities. We have an outstanding career opportunity for a driven successful Operations Manager with a proven track record of increasing responsibility in the distribution/transportation fields. Successful candidates will handle the daily supervision of a warehouse crew and provide hands-on support. The successful candidate should possess the highest level of integrity a can-do attitude and promote teamwork.
Responsibilities:
Scheduling of staff based on workload
Running shifts with safety and efficiency as priorities
Maintain and report daily work logs to corporate office
Audit of daily labor and billing reports
Performance management of staff including hiring counseling and interpretation of State and Federal employment laws
Proactive demeanor and practitioner of continuous improvement using lean tools of 5S 5 Why Kaizen and one-piece flow
Qualifications:
Excellent interpersonal communication leadership and customer service skills
The ability to make decisions problem solve prioritize assignments and direct the workforce in an ever-changing warehouse environment
Microsoft Excel and Outlook experience a must
Proven track record in supervision of warehouse employees including hiring and training
Experience and ability to create and maintain various management reports
Knowledge of DOT/Hazmat OSHA
