Job Summary

Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) La Jolla CA

A healthcare organization is seeking a skilled Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join its surgical services team. This opportunity is ideal for nursing professionals who are passionate about perioperative care patient safety and supporting successful surgical outcomes in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patients and prepare them for surgical procedures

  • Develop and implement individualized perioperative care plans

  • Assist with patient positioning surgical preparation and intraoperative care

  • Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes in status

  • Administer medications treatments and therapies as prescribed

  • Maintain a safe and sterile surgical environment

  • Collaborate with surgeons anesthesia providers and operating room staff to coordinate patient care

  • Support a variety of surgical specialties and procedures as assigned

  • Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner

  • Educate patients and family members regarding procedures recovery expectations and postoperative care

  • Promote patient safety infection prevention and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for licensure

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Previous operating room or perioperative nursing experience required

  • Certification in perioperative nursing preferred

  • Experience supporting multiple surgical specialties preferred

  • Strong clinical judgment communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment
