Operating Room Lead Nurse (RN) La Jolla CA

A healthcare organization is seeking an experiencedOperating Room Lead Nurse (RN) to provide clinical leadership and support within a surgical services department. This opportunity is ideal for nursing professionals who enjoy coordinating patient care mentoring team members and serving as a clinical resource in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee patient care activities during assigned shifts

  • Serve as a clinical resource and subject matter expert for surgical services staff

  • Assign and support team members to ensure safe and efficient patient care delivery

  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate surgical care

  • Monitor patient progress and assist with complex clinical situations

  • Promote compliance with established nursing standards policies and safety practices

  • Support staff development through mentoring coaching and clinical guidance

  • Assist with workflow management case coordination and patient throughput

  • Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

  • Provide direct patient care and clinical support as needed

  • Foster a collaborative professional and patient-centered work environment

Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for licensure

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Previous operating room nursing experience required

  • Specialty surgical experience preferred

  • Leadership charge nurse or team lead experience preferred

  • Strong communication organizational and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to coordinate multiple priorities in a fast-paced surgical environment
