Position Purpose:

In accordance withthe Mission and GuidingBehaviors;the Operating Room Assistant under the direction of a Registered Nurse will provide patient care tasks in an atmosphere sensitive to each persons physical emotional social and spiritual needs. Functions within the standards policies procedures and guidelines of the Organization.

What you will do:

• Assistswith placing patient in the designated surgical position (e.g.supine prone lateral lithotomy).

• Monitor positioning and traction devices asappropriate.

• Verifiesintegrityof sterile packaging and sterilization indicators.

• Open sterile supplies and instruments using aseptictechnique.

• Assistswith room turnover.

• Adheres to aseptic technique principles.

• Maintains OR supply inventory and linen.

• All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: High school graduate orequivalency.

• Experience:Previoushealthcare experience preferred

• Effective Communication Skills

• Demonstrates effective interpersonalverbaland written communication. Math computation skills.

• BLS healthcare provider training.
