MalaceHR is seeking an experienced Operating Engineer to support the operation maintenance troubleshooting and repair of critical building systems within a commercial/industrial facility. This role is ideal for a hands-on maintenance professional with strong experience in industrial mechanical systems particularly air compressors industrial plumbing and HVAC equipment.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated capable of working independently and committed to maintaining a safe efficient and reliable facility.
Key Responsibilities
Operate inspect troubleshoot repair and maintain commercial and industrial building systems.
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical HVAC plumbing and utility systems.
Maintain and repair air compressor systems (4 compressors onsite).
Perform maintenance and repairs on industrial plumbing systems.
Service HVAC equipment including cooling towers and associated mechanical equipment.
Inspect monitor and adjust building equipment to ensure optimal system performance.
Perform cleaning inspections calibrations lubrication and component replacements on facility equipment.
Record equipment readings and complete maintenance documentation accurately.
Assist with maintenance of:
Mechanical systems
Plumbing systems
Fire & Life Safety systems
Structural components
Building controls
General facility equipment
Monitor contractor work to ensure quality safety and compliance with facility standards.
Maintain maintenance inventories tools and equipment.
Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
Maintain clean organized and safe work areas.
Identify equipment deficiencies and recommend improvements to increase reliability and efficiency.
Respond to maintenance issues quickly while minimizing equipment downtime.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
EPA
Minimum 2 years of air compressor maintenance experience.
Minimum 2 years of industrial plumbing experience.
Experience maintaining commercial or industrial HVAC systems.
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical plumbing and HVAC equipment independently.
Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance practices.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to read mechanical drawings equipment manuals and technical documentation.
Self-starter with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand walk climb ladders kneel crawl and work in mechanical spaces throughout the shift.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Comfortable working around industrial mechanical equipment.
Must be able to wear required PPE throughout the workday.
Background & Screening Requirements
Lead and Zinc blood test
Baseline blood testing during onboarding with follow-up testing every three months as required
Safety Equipment Provided:
Eye protection
Required PPE provided
Respirators/PAPRs are generally not required for daily work
