Job Summary
Founded in 1961 Dignity Health - Arroyo Grande Community Hospital is a 65-bed acute care nonprofit hospital located in Arroyo Grande California. Serving over 90000 patients annually the hospital offers a full complement of services including emergency care and orthopedics. Additionally Arroyo Grande Community Hospital has been recognized as an LGBTQ Healthcare Equality High Performer by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. It is a Joint Commission-certified Primary Stroke Center and has the only inpatient Acute Rehabilitation Center between Salinas and Santa Barbara.
As our Operating Engineer you will independently perform journeyman-level duties responsible for daily operational issues concerning the energy plant hospital and associated equipment/systems.
Every day you will design construct install or maintain building systems and equipment ensuring safety functionality efficiency and occupant comfort. You will also monitor equipment/system problems and recommend solutions for optimal facility performance.
Success in this role requires extensive technical expertise a strong commitment to safety and efficiency excellent problem-solving and autonomous work with high operational standards.
- Takes hourly water temperature readings.
- Conducts water tests every four hours.
- Makes rounds of hospital building at least twice in the shift.
- Checks engineering logs at each nursing station.
- Performs minor repairs as needed.
- Provides assistance to security section when needed.
- Journeyman Status Knowledge and experience in multiple trades
