One Health Coordinator (Public Service Administrator, Opt.4)

The Illinois Department of Public Health is seeking an innovative leader to oversee the statewide One Health digital public health dashboard integrating infectious communicable and environmental health data to strengthen early warning detection and coordinated response. This role collaborates across programs and partner agencies to unify data systems develop clear visualizations enhance data literacy and guide Office wide One Health initiatives. The ideal candidate brings strong analytic technical and program management expertise to advance data driven decision making and improve Illinois public health infrastructure.

• Leads and manages the statewide infectious communicable and environmental diseases/exposure maintenance of the One Health integrated dashboard to improve outbreak investigation response and control.
• Manages Office-wide technological system for all Office programs and key decision makers.
• Assists Assistant Deputy Director in planning developing and directing programs to increase efficiency and to maintain uniformity in program administration.
• Manages special projects grants and contracts for the Office.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

• Requires knowledge skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college.
• Requires prior experience equivalent to three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a Food Drugs and Dairies animal-contact and/or infectious/communicable diseases programs.

• Requires two (2) years of highly technical experience in statistics data collection and compilation or related professional experience.
• Requires one (1) year of experience using Python R or related software to manipulate and analyze data.

• Two (2) years highly technical experience in statistics data collection and compilation or related professional experience.
• One (1) year of experience using Python R or related software to manipulate and analyze data.
• Two (2) years experience conducting quality control of data to ensure all requirements in data management are met.
• Two (2) years experience with an electronic surveillance system either in and/or a combination of disease environmental drugs/dairy or related professional experience in surveillance systems.
• Two (2) years experience structuring maintaining and analyzing large datasets.
• One (1) year experience writing SQL scripts to manipulate and analyze data.

• Certain provisions of the revolving door restrictions contained in 5 ILCS 430/5-45 apply to this position. As a result the employee should be aware that if offered non-State employment during state employment or within one year immediately after ending State employment the employee shall prior to accepting any such non-State employment offer notify the Office of the Executive Inspector General for the Agencies of the Illinois Governor (OEIG) or may be subject to a fine.
• This position has been found to meet the requirements in section 4A-101 of the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act requiring the occupant/employee to file a Statement of Economic Interest. The Illinois Governmental Ethics Act (5 ILCS 420/4A et seq.) requires certain state officials and employees to file annual Statements of Economic Interest with the Office of the Secretary of State that will be made available for examination and copying by the public. All employees required to file a Statement of Economic Interest are also required to file the Supplemental Statement of Economic Interest with Executive Ethics Commission.
