Danners Incorporated is looking for dependable safety-minded Freight Drivers to join our Freight Division.
As a Freight Driver you will play an important role in keeping cargo moving throughout maritime port airport warehouse and related transportation environments. You will be responsible for safely picking up and delivering freight handling cargo completing required documentation inspecting your assigned vehicle and maintaining consistent communication with Dispatch.
This is not a typical driving position. Our drivers work in busy ports airports docks terminals and other high-traffic environments where safety awareness professionalism and attention to detail matter every day.
You will represent Danners at every location you visit working directly with customers maritime and aviation personnel Dispatch and other members of our operations team.

What Youll Do
Safe Driving and Transportation
- Operate Danners company vehicles safely and professionally in ports airports terminals warehouses and other high-traffic environments.
- Safely maneuver trailers and freight through confined congested or challenging areas.
- Complete assigned freight pickups and deliveries in a timely manner.
- Follow all applicable maritime port airport roadway and company safety regulations.
- Practice safe driving at all times including during nighttime operations and inclement weather.
- Adjust to changing routes schedules traffic conditions and operational requirements.
Cargo Handling and Documentation
- Load and unload freight using forklifts pallet jacks and other equipment as required.
- Perform moderate manual labor associated with loading unloading and securing freight.
- Verify cargo against shipping and receiving documentation to ensure accuracy.
- Complete all required transportation shipping receiving and delivery documentation.
- Maintain proper chain-of-custody procedures when applicable.
- Identify and report damaged missing incorrect or otherwise discrepant cargo to Dispatch or management.
- Ensure required paperwork is completed accurately and submitted according to company procedures.
Vehicle Inspections and Equipment Care
- Complete required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Ensure assigned vehicles and equipment remain clean safe and serviceable.
- Identify and immediately report mechanical problems safety concerns or equipment issues to Fleet & Facilities.
- Follow all company requirements regarding vehicle and equipment use.
Communication and Customer Service
- Maintain frequent communication with Dispatch regarding job status delays route issues special instructions and other operational concerns.
- Provide timely updates when circumstances may affect a pickup or delivery.
- Communicate professionally with customers and personnel at pickup and delivery locations.
- Maintain a courteous and professional attitude regardless of the situation.
- Represent Danners with integrity respect and professionalism at every location.
24/7 Operational Support
- Support Danners 24/7 transportation operation and remain available on call as scheduled.
- Be prepared to work changing schedules and assignments based on operational needs.
- Maintain flexibility regarding days evenings nights weekends and holidays.
- Respond professionally and promptly when contacted regarding an assignment or schedule change.
- Follow all company safety procedures policies and reporting requirements.

Required Qualifications
- Must be 24 years of age or older.
- Must possess a valid TWIC Card.
- Must possess a valid Texas Drivers License.
- Must have a flexible schedule with availability for days evenings nights weekends and holidays.
- Ability to proficiently speak read and write English.
- Strong attention to detail and situational awareness.
- Ability to safely operate vehicles in busy ports airports terminals and other challenging environments.
- Ability to use basic technology including smartphones tablets mobile applications and company software.
- Ability to utilize technology to complete training conduct vehicle inspections track assignments communicate with Dispatch and complete daily job responsibilities.
- Ability to respond professionally and promptly to changing schedules assignments and operational requirements.
- Strong sense of urgency and follow-through.

- Must successfully meet Danners requirements for background screening MVR review health screening and drug testing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of recent professional driving experience in transportation logistics maritime port airport or a related industry preferred.
- Previous experience working in ports terminals warehouses airports or maritime environments preferred.
- Experience handling freight or operating forklifts pallet jacks or similar equipment is a plus.

The position requires the ability to:

- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance.

- Maintain adequate vision with or without corrective lenses and hearing sufficient to understand verbal instructions.

Because Danners operates around the clock this position may require weekend work overtime evenings overnight assignments and changing schedules based on operational demand.
