Key Responsibilities

Job Duties
As a Motor Vehicle Technician you will:

  • Issue license plates permits registrations certificates etc.
  • Receive research and respond to incoming questions or complaints; provide information explain policy and procedures and/or facilitate a resolution.
  • Process transactions at a Point of Sale system give correct change and close the cash drawer at the end of the shift.
  • Assist the public and others to complete forms applications and other paperwork.
  • Examine documents to verify applicability legibility completeness accuracy and/or consistency of information from one document to another etc.
  • Communicate information and ideas clearly and concisely in writing and/or verbally; read and understandinformation presentedin writing.
  • Perform comprehensive physical inspection of motor vehicles to verify the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).

Minimum Qualifications
The best qualified candidate for this position will have:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Previous motor vehicle experience

Salary
Non-state employees are hired for this position at $19.68 an hour. We are unable to negotiate hourly wage
amounts. DHRM rules apply for promotions/transfers for current state employees.
