Yandt Boat Works a specialist marine and cargo surveying company established in 2014 is seeking a skilled and dedicated Offshore Oil & Gas Marine Technician to join our team. We are committed to delivering an exceptional service-oriented experience for our clients offering a wide range of services from pre-purchase surveys to comprehensive repair management. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technical expert responsible for conducting detailed surveys inspections and maintenance management on a variety of marine assets within the offshore oil and gas industry. This position requires a professional with a strong technical background and the ability to operate effectively in demanding offshore environments.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive condition value and damage surveys on offshore support vessels platforms and related equipment.
Perform detailed technical inspections of marine systems including propulsion electrical hydraulic and navigational equipment.
Diagnose faults and oversee and manage repair contracts to ensure work is completed to the highest standards.
Prepare detailed and accurate survey reports documenting findings and providing clear recommendations to clients.
Ensure all activities and inspected assets comply with classification society rules maritime regulations and industry safety standards.
Liaise directly with clients to understand project requirements explain technical findings and provide outstanding customer service.
Travel frequently to national and international offshore locations to perform on-site duties.
Qualifications
Proven experience working as a Marine Technician Marine Engineer or a similar technical role within the offshore oil and gas sector.
Strong technical knowledge of marine diesel engines power generation and auxiliary systems.
Experience in marine surveying including pre-sale pre-purchase or insurance damage claim assessments.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of attention to detail for report writing.
Ability to work independently and manage projects in challenging and remote offshore environments.
A strong commitment to health safety and environmental standards.
Must be willing and physically able to travel extensively and work offshore for extended periods.
Relevant industry certifications (e.g. BOSIET HUET) are highly desirable.
