To serve as Administrative Assistant to the Supervisor andAssistant Supervisor of Assessments by facilitating the flow of work throughtheir offices.
Answer Taxpayer questions and perform duties in an accurateand timely manor. Set up hearings meetings appointments etc in a timelymanor as needed by the Supervisor and Assistant Supervisor.
Scheduling 1st level hearings-timeliness of appealscompletion of dockets office and outside office locations. Process decisionfrom hearings.
New property deed plotting and property sketches for theAssessment Administration and Valuation System (AA VS). Permit and occupancylists from county processed and recorded ..
Organization and processing of PT AAB & MTC hearingsdecisions worked and record retention. Maintain schedules for MTC and PT AABcases for Residential and Commercial Assessors
Assist in supervising clerical function in the absence ofthe Office Manager and Assistant Office Manger.
AA VS keying for Residential and Commercial Assessors asneeded. Assist in mailings of Commercial income questionnaires. Their duties asrequired.
This position is a mission essential/mission criticalclassification.
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school orpossession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Two years performing secretarial or clericalwork involving typing duties.
Notes:
1. Additional secretarial or clerical experience may besubstituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Thirty credit hours with a major in secretarial scienceor office technology from an accredited college may be substituted at the rateof thirty credits for one year of experience for up to two years of therequired experience.
3.Candidatesmay substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as anon-commissioned officer in Administration classifications or AdministrativeClerical or Office Services specialty codes in the Administrative Supportfield of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
Must be willing to work in Howard County.
