Job Summary
Wilkes University invites applicants for an Office Assistant for the Department of Creative Writing and the Division of Performing Arts in the College of Arts and Sciences. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive administrative support to the department(s) including the following responsibilities:
- Monitor budgets and prepare financial and administrative forms.
- Coordinate Winter and Summer Creative Writing Residencies.
- Assist with performing arts center event scheduling and facility calendar management.
- Process Purchasing Card purchases for equipment supplies and departmental needs.
- Prepare faculty load and adjunct compensation forms each semester.
- Support departmental outreach and engagement activities throughout the academic year.
- Assist faculty with course-related programmatic and professional needs.
- Prepare contracts for guest artists directors and musicians and coordinate related travel housing and logistics.
- Manage online theatre ticket sales and box office operations.
- Facilitate student services and provide administrative support to students within the department.
- Coordinate theatre program auditions and on-site recruitment activities.
- Maintain departmental records files and office supply inventory.
- Organize and support program events receptions presentations and special initiatives.
- Coordinate with Facilities and Public Safety regarding space usage event needs and building security.
Additional skills necessary are excellent and written communication skills computer applications interpersonal skills and excellent attention to detail. Associates degree is required Bachelors degree preferred. Three to five years experience in a higher education environment is advantageous. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
