Stipend Position - $2500 Annually
Reports To

Executive Director of Special Education

Position Purpose

The Occupational Therapy/Physical Therapy Lead serves as the district liaison and instructional leader for Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy services. The Lead supports program implementation promotes compliance with federal and state regulations assists with Medicaid initiatives and provides mentoring and technical assistance to district staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Serve as the district lead for Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy services.
  • Assist the Executive Director of Special Education with the implementation and monitoring of OT/PT services district-wide.
  • Provide mentoring guidance and support to Occupational Therapists and Physical Therapists.
  • Assist with the orientation and onboarding of newly hired OT/PT staff.
  • Facilitate regular meetings with OT/PT staff to review district initiatives procedures and best practices.
  • Monitor discipline-specific documentation and assist staff in maintaining compliance with federal state and district requirements.
  • Assist in reviewing schedules caseloads and workload assignments to promote efficient service delivery.
  • Support implementation of district Medicaid procedures and expectations.
  • Provide training and technical assistance regarding Medicaid documentation billing requirements and service delivery practices.
  • Review discipline-specific billing reports denial reports and trends to identify areas for improvement.
  • Assist with internal audits corrective actions and program reviews.
  • Collaborate with school administrators special education coordinators and district leadership to address service delivery concerns.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of district procedures forms and guidance documents related to OT/PT services.
  • Communicate updates regarding state and federal regulations district initiatives and professional practices to staff.
  • Participate as a member of the District Medicaid Leadership Team.
  • Perform other duties related to the position as assigned by the Executive Director of Special Education.
Qualifications
  • Current West Virginia licensure as an Occupational Therapist or Physical Therapist.
  • Minimum of three years of successful experience in school-based practice preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership organizational and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of IDEA special education procedures and school-based Medicaid preferred.
