As an Occupational Therapy Assistant youll partner with the Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality patient-centered care by:
- Implementing individualized treatment plans established by the Occupational Therapist
- Assisting patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) self-care skills upper extremity function balance coordination and mobility
- Educating patients and caregivers on adaptive techniques and equipment
- Documenting patient progress accurately and efficiently
- Collaborating with OTs PTs PTAs SLPs nursing staff and physicians
- Encouraging patients to reach their highest level of independence and function
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current Michigan Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA/OTA) license or eligibility for licensure
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Experience in Skilled Nursing (SNF) Post-Acute Care Rehabilitation Long-Term Care Home Health or Outpatient Therapy is a plus but not required
