Position: Occupational Therapist

Reports to: Assistant Director of Student Programs

Supervises: None

Qualifications:

  1. Current therapist licensure from the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision.
  2. Minimum three years experience in pediatric occupational therapy practice or documented education/training in pediatric occupational therapy services.
  3. Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship.
  4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Position Goal:

  1. To provide the related service of occupational therapy to eligible students.
  2. Participate on the educational team via provision of professional occupational therapy services as appropriate.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate and practice on the educational service teams of students served.
  2. Consult with Jenks Public Schools staff parents students and administration in provision of appropriate integrated intervention services for students with special needs.
  3. Provide evaluation and assessment services at appropriate intervals using appropriate methods.
  4. Provide therapeutic interventions in the least restrictive environment with integration of services where appropriate.
  5. Consult regarding the use of instructional aids adaptations and equipment in the educational environment.
  6. Provide documentation of services in accordance with guidelines and requirements of the Department of Student Programs.
  7. Adhere to the policies and procedures of IDEA Jenks Public Schools and the Jenks Public Schools Department of Student Programs.
  8. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Employment Terms: Nine (9) month classified hourly contract

Occasional Requirements: Reach with hands and arms overhead above shoulder and horizontally; lift/move up to 40 pounds.

Visual Requirements: Close color peripheral depth perception ability to adjust focus.

Hearing/Speaking Requirements: Adequate to exchange information.
