Job Summary
Fall River Health Services is looking for an Occupational Therapist. The person in this role will be responsible for the evaluation planning directing and administering of occupational therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed this role you will administer treatments and occupational agents as prescribed by a referring physician in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following injury disease of physical disability. The ideal candidate for this position will assist patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. Responsibilities: Provide appropriate supervision to assistants/aides. Perform an appropriate assessment of each patient and directs each plan of care based upon identified deficit areas. This includes pediatric adolescent and geriatric patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Observes and evaluates patient response to treatment and discusses any recommended plan of care changes with the physician. Formulate a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning; the family is included in teaching as appropriate. Interacts professionally with the patient/family and involves them in the development of the plan of care. Coordinates and directs patient care to ensure patients needs and hospital policy is followed. Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency of occupational therapy modalities. Manages and operates modality equipment both safely and correctly. Maintains department cleanliness and safety. Maintains records pertinent to the operation of the department. Meets current documentation standards and policies. Treat patients and their families with respect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial needs of patient and family. Communicates appropriately and clearly to physicians staff and administrative team. Demonstrate the ability to be both flexible and organized and can effectively function under stressful situations. Maintains a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments. Consults other departments as appropriate to collaborate in patient care and performance improvement activities. Participates in educational staff performance improvement in-services. Assists with orientation and in-service training for certified department staff members. Participate in continuing education programs per facility need as well as established state/national CEU requirements
