Contract Details: Full-time
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Occupational Therapist Assistant to join a skilled nursing facility (SNF) in Topeka Kansas. As an Occupational Therapist Assistant you will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to help patients regain their independence and improve their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in evaluating and treating patients with physical emotional or developmental impairments
- Help patients with daily activities such as dressing grooming and eating
- Teach patients how to use adaptive equipment and assistive devices
- Monitor patients progress and document their treatment plans
- Communicate with the Occupational Therapist and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective treatment plans
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients and their families
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of patient care plans
- Adhere to all safety and infection control procedures
Requirements:
- Associates degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Valid Occupational Therapist Assistant license in the state of Kansas
- Previous experience in a SNF or rehabilitation setting preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
- Physical stamina to perform job duties including lifting and transferring patients
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of electronic medical records systems
