Job Summary
Obstetrics / Med Surg RN Travel Contract
Location: Atlantic IA
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift
Hours: 36 Hours Guaranteed
Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive nursing care for labor delivery recovery postpartum and newborn patients.
Monitor maternal and fetal well-being throughout the obstetric care continuum.
Assist with labor and delivery procedures and postpartum care.
Float to the Medical-Surgical unit as needed based on patient census.
Perform patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols.
Document patient care assessments and outcomes using EPIC EMR.
Collaborate with physicians pediatric teams and interdisciplinary healthcare staff.
Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.
Maintain compliance with nursing standards safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (ADN or BSN).
Active Iowa RN License or Compact RN License required.
Current ACLS certification.
Current BLS/BCLS certification.
Current PALS certification.
Current NRP certification.
Ability to work in both Obstetrics and Medical-Surgical settings.
Strong clinical assessment communication and patient care skills.
Flexibility to float between departments as needed.
