Job Summary

Job Title: OB Surgical Technician (Part-Time)

Location: Portland OR
Duration: 13 Weeks (Potential for Extension)
Schedule: Two 12-Hour Day Shifts per Week
Shift: 7:00 AM 7:00 PM

Compensation

Pay Rate: $49 $62 per Hour (Based on Experience)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced OB Surgical Technician to support Labor & Delivery services in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have recent obstetrical surgical experience the ability to independently scrub OB procedures and a strong commitment to patient safety and quality care.

Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians and nursing staff during obstetrical surgical procedures including cesarean sections and other Labor & Delivery surgeries.
  • Establish and maintain sterile fields throughout surgical procedures.
  • Prepare organize and maintain surgical instruments supplies and equipment.
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide appropriate support during procedures.
  • Assist with patient admissions scheduling activities and procedural preparation within the OB department.
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention sterilization and patient safety standards.
  • Perform instrument counts and maintain accurate documentation according to departmental policies.
  • Collaborate with nurses physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Support efficient workflow within the Labor & Delivery unit.
Required Qualifications
  • Active NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) Certification.
  • Recent OB Surgical Technician experience.
  • Ability to independently scrub obstetrical surgical cases.
  • Strong communication organizational and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with OB patient scheduling and admissions.
  • Epic electronic medical record (EMR) experience.
  • Previous Labor & Delivery or Womens Services experience in an acute care setting.
Assignment Details
  • 13-week contract assignment with potential for extension.
  • Part-time schedule consisting of two 12-hour day shifts per week.
