OB Nurse Manager

Nursing Department Goals:

Identify nursing practice models based on a conceptual framework which supports the ability of Nursing to best meet the individualized patient needs through cooperation with physicians and other members of the health care team.

Identify and implement the most cost effective means of meeting patient needs through appropriate utilization of resources i.e. nursing personnel procurement and utilization of supplies and equipment.

Develop automation which is efficient and relevant to nursing in meeting patient care needs.

Provide appropriate orientation ongoing education skills training and leadership for nursing personnel and enhance their capability to provide high quality patient care.

Enhance the work environment to continue to attract and retain qualified nursing personnel.

Enhance the system which assists in the development of leadership personal and professional abilities as well as rewards individual contributions to hospital strategies through the performance improvement process.

Establish a nursing quality management system based on standards of nursing care and practice operating from quality improvement principles and integrated with the medical centers plan.
