Sentara Health is hiring OB GYN Ultrasound Technician /Medical Sonographer in Harrisonburg VA!

Job Description

Conducts general diagnostic ultrasound imaging studies of patients within scope of demonstrated competency under the direction of a qualified physician to include: scanning of patient for demonstration of correct anatomy/pathology operation of sonography equipment operation of the electronic radiology systems preparation of patient room/equipment/medications and maintains adequate supply inventory. Explains examination and procedure to patients and completes departmental documentation. Competent in use and logging of infection control equipment.

Education

• HS Diploma or equivalency Required
• Associates degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field preferred

Certification/Licensure

• Completion of a training program acceptable to their registry board ARRT or ARDMS Required
• Registered ARRT or ARDMS required upon hire for ACR-accredited sites - Required
• For ICAVL-accredited sites candidates who are not yet credentialed may be hired as provisional technical staff must work under the direct supervision of a credentialed vascular/general sonographer and must obtain the appropriate vascular/general sonography credential within two years of the start date of training Required

We provide market-competitive compensation packages inclusive of base pay incentives and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $40.80 - $60.63 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role such as shift differentials standby/on-call pay overtime shift premiums extra-shift incentives or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications experience location market conditions and business needs.
