Pay Rate: $55/hr to $60/hr
Contract: 13 Weeks
Schedule: 6:30 PM 7:00 AM
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Experience: 2 years of ICU SICU CTICU Trauma ICU MS ICU or Neuro ICU experience required

About the Role

MVHS Utica New York is seeking experienced Registered Nurses for a 13-week ICU contract assignment. This role is ideal for strong critical care nurses with travel experience Epic EMR experience and hands-on ICU skills including CRRT and Prismaflex. Candidates with cardiac CTICU or heart-related ICU experience will be prioritized.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit.
• Monitor assess and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Manage complex ICU patients including neuro medical surgical trauma and CTICU cases.
• Support care for patients with strokes sepsis altered mental status respiratory failure CHF post-STEMI cardiogenic shock AAA trauma and major post-operative needs.
• Operate and monitor specialty ICU equipment including IABP CRRT Prismaflex or NxStage ventriculostomy ICP monitoring and TTM/Arctic Sun.
• Administer medications treatments and interventions according to provider orders and facility protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians respiratory therapy charge nurses and interdisciplinary care teams.
• Document patient care accurately in Epic EMR.
• Float to other units as needed excluding Behavioral Health and ER unless holding.
• Maintain patient safety infection control and critical care standards throughout the shift.

Requirements

• Active New York Registered Nurse license required.
• All active Registered Nurse licenses must be verified through NURSYS.
• Minimum 2 years of ICU-related experience required.
• Travel experience required.
• CRRT and Prismaflex experience required.
• Heart cardiac or CTICU experience highly preferred.
• Current AHA BLS certification required.
• Current AHA ACLS certification required.
• NIHSS certification required.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Two recent ICU Charge Nurse or Manager Registered Nurse references required.
• Skills checklist matching ICU specialty required.
• Drivers license address must match demographics.
• RTO must be included at time of submission.
• Local and travel candidates accepted.
• Local rate applies for candidates less than 75 miles from the facility.
• Block scheduling is not promised or guaranteed.
• Navy scrubs required.
• No on-call requirement.
