NUWC Lead Engineer

What Youll Get to Do

Develop and lead strategy for a large intel focused organization for improving and creating processes or systems based on in-depth understanding of customer objectives in combination with market forces the competitive landscape and emerging market best practices.

Communicate with parties in and outside of own job function and has responsibility to communicate to the organization including customers partners and suppliers.

Review and collaborate with CACI site lead to ensure successful technical execution across all programs in the NUWC portfolio.

Recommend new innovative ideas or approaches for customers current requirements as well as conceive solutions to current challenges.

Inform CACIs Strategic Plan for growth by collaborating to develop a cohesive technology strategy aligned with business pursuits to create competitive advantage in the market.

Participate in analysis of alternatives task planning scope definition and technical risk management to ensure successful program execution.

Generate and support the publication of technical briefs transition briefs white papers and proposals.

Support Engineering Review Boards Program Management Reviews system demonstrations formal test events and other technical interchange meetings with internal and external stakeholders.

Collaborate to develop and execute strategic plans to achieve short-and long-term objectives.

Analyze engineering systems processes and projects to maximize efficiency and effectiveness with recommendations to CACI site lead to improve team functionality.

More About the Role

The Engineering SME should be comfortable working with a diverse set of contractors and customer personnel using strong interpersonal skills to contribute to the assessment integration testing and fielding of wide-ranging technologies and advanced concepts. Track manage and resolve technical issues. This position will serve as the Technical SME role for technical resources across the NUWC program.

Lead the day-to-day execution activities of the Engineering team in conjunction with the Program Manager

Identify technical continuous improvement and project execution efficiencies

Develop and implement improvements to existing processes and practices

Conduct investigation to understand root cause of issues and problems

Youll Bring These Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in engineering field or 10 years DoD Engineering Experience.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in a position requiring engineering management expertise
• Active Secret clearance / ability to obtain TS/SCI
• Experience supporting NUWC Division Newport
• Track record of complex problem-solving aptitude
• Strong customer and user relations skills as well as experience at technical interchange meetings and representing the organization in technical matters
• Excellent written communication skills with strong experience developing white papers and technical proposals

These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have

• Experience in an engineering management position working with NUWC and/or other IAC MAC customers
• Experience with NUWC Division Newport code 034
• Experience working large system of systems design and development
• Specific knowledge of the Navys full-spectrum Research Development Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) addressable market competitors technologies and mission-specific threats
• Ability and passion to bring vision and innovation to the engineering function. Effective collaboration skills and strategy development with peers and senior leaders. Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact with senior leadership.
