Located in Lakewood Colorado St. Anthony Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center where we provide a full range of medical specialties and health care services to Denver and the surrounding region through our state-of-the-art medical campus and home base for Flight For Life Colorado. With four trauma rooms including the T-10 room a dedicated field-to-surgery suite ready 24/7 for trauma surgeons and specially trained teams our staff can provide life-saving care to the most severely ill and injured 2023 we received our exciting Magnet designation! Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Nursing Unit Secretary you will assist the healthcare team in coordinating prioritizing and communicating patient physician and staff needs ensuring smooth unit operations.

Every day you will manage essential administrative tasks facilitate communication flow and support the efficient delivery of patient care demonstrating personal accountability for our organizational mission and core values.

To be successful in this role you will possess strong organizational and communication skills meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach to managing complex administrative tasks in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

  • Triages patient call lights in a timely manner.
  • Monitors the electronic record for new provider-enteredorders.
  • Coordinates the completion of the orders with nursing staff and other departments as appropriate.
  • Utilizes computer technology to access and exchange data i.e. lab results interdepartmental communications etc.
  • Maintains thorough and confidential patient charts and records.
  • Performs clerical duties maintains department/unit logs and coordinates services as needed.
Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association

Preferred

  • Previous nursing unit secretary or medical office experience.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to read write speak and understand English.
