JOB GOAL:
While under the direct supervision of the Director of College and Career Readiness and CTE the lead will be responsible for maintaining the Certified Nursing Assistant programs at QCHS CHS and EHS approved eligibility status with the Arizona State Board of Nursing.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current registered nurse license that is active and in good standing or multi state privilege to practice as an RN under A.R.S. Title 32 Chapter 15
- Two years of nursing experience with at least one year of which is in the provision of long-term care facility services
- Ability to meet the program requirements as outlined in Arizona State Board of Nursing Article 8.
- Knowledge of Arizona Department of Education Career and Technical Education Nursing
- Services program standards
- Knowledge of Arizona Department of Education Career and Technical Education Professional Skills Standards
- Skill in both oral and written communication
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with teachers students parents colleagues administration community and clinical facilities.
- Must pass a background clearance
- Must obtain an Arizona IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities shall include but not be limited to the following:
- Supervises and evaluates the Certified Nursing Assistant program
- Ensures QCUSD instructors meet Arizona State Board of Nursing qualifications and there are sufficient instructors to provide for a clinical ratio not to exceed 10 students per instructor
- Ensures the program meets the requirements of the Arizona State Board of Nursing Article 8
- Ensures the program meets federal requirements regarding clinical facilities under 42 CFR 483.151.
- Completes AZ Board of Nursing initial program renewal applications & updates for the Nursing Assistant Handbook Nursing Assistant forms book clinical guide for students and Clinical Guide for Faculty.
- Monitors and ensures documentation of required nursing assistant training hours for each student.
- Secures clinical contracts for hands-on training at hospitals and long-term care facilities
- Schedules clinical training hours with clinical facilities and clinical instructors
- Monitors student documentation to ensure program compliance
- Creates individual student files for documentation as required by the AzBN
- Schedules testing for end of the year nursing assistant exams (Knowledge and Manual Skills).
- Works with post-secondary for dual-enrollment
- Aligns the nursing assistant curriculum to the school calendar for didactic and clinical application
- Approves the syllabus to align with standards and the nursing assistant curriculum
- Evaluates and ensures the nursing assistant program is in compliance with Article 8
- Evaluates and ensures the nursing assistant program meets federal regulations for nursing assistant programs
- Helps facilitate program teacher and clinical nurse candidate applications with the Azbn to meet the state board requirements
- Evaluates clinical instructors
- Registers students for the Nursing Assistant Program with the Arizona State Board of Nursing
- Meets with parents and students regarding compliance issues
- Assists with the program advisory board
- Works with medical facilities to schedule professional shadowing and hands-on skill training
- Attends annual nursing assistant instructor/coordinator training
- Attends annual Headmaster skill training for instructors and coordinators
- Meets monthly with the Arizona State Board of Nursing
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned to advance district priorities
