Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center is hiring a Nursing Professional Development Specialist - Perioperative
- Assess educational and professional development needs across assigned clinical areas.
- Design implement and evaluate orientation competency and continuing education programs.
- Serve as a clinical resource mentor and coach to nursing staff supporting development from novice to expert practice.
- Promote evidence-based practice and facilitate the integration of current research into clinical care.
- Collaborate with nursing leadership and interdisciplinary teams to improve clinical quality patient safety and staff performance.
- Lead or participate in quality improvement initiatives shared governance activities and organizational education projects.
- Develop educational materials competency assessments and learning resources to support regulatory and organizational requirements.
- Evaluate educational outcomes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Minimum MLD - Masters Level Degree (required)
- 3 years clinical experience (required)
- Perioperative (preferred)
- Demonstrated clinical expertise and experience in nursing education staff development or clinical leadership.
- Strong communication presentation facilitation and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles evidence-based practice and quality improvement methodologies.
- ACLS certification required for Intermediate Care and Critical Care areas.
