As Clinical Faculty you will have the opportunity to share your knowledge and expertise with the next generation of nurses ensuring they receive a comprehensive education and are well-prepared for their professional careers.

In this role you will work closely with nursing students in the Doctor of Nursing Practice and baccalaureate programs and will be assigned to teach didactic and experiential (clinical) courses and may provide instruction in simulated care environments. Depending on expertise qualifications and program needs it is also possible to be assigned to teach in undergraduate or PhD programs.

Employment in this position is contingent upon the successful candidates ability to provide satisfactory documentation for various medical clearances and certifications as required by the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Nursing and/or its affiliated clinical partners. Examples of required medical clearances and certifications include but are not limited to: RN license negative TB status COVID vaccination MMR varicella hepatitis B and others.

This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Teach in DNP programs and baccalaureate (accelerated traditional and AD to BSN completion) or PhD programs based on school/program needs.

  • Teach using accepted course descriptions course objectives and content delivery approaches including assuring students meet expectations for required clinical hours if assigned to teach clinical courses.

  • Teach using strategies to include active learning simulated experiential learning and clinical experiential learning across health care settings as required by course assignments.

  • Collaborate with other faculty on curriculum and course planning at the graduate and undergraduate levels using concept-based and competency-based teaching and learning assessment strategies.

  • Engage in other activities appropriate to a member of the School of Nursing academic community such as attending School meetings participating in faculty development activities and contributing to meeting the mission and vision of the School.

  • Contribute to the School of Nursing mission through service activities (e.g. governance committees outreach activities or project task groups).

  • Pursue areas of scholarly interest (e.g. evaluation studies to improve teaching and learning).

  • Collaborate with colleagues in practice settings through academic-practice partnerships to contribute to student learning practice improvement or community outreach.

  • Work to support and enhance the climate of excellence.

Compensation:

The minimum starting salary for this position is $91400. Actual salary will be negotiated based on experience and qualifications. This is a C- basis (9-month) position. This is a part-time position which means actual salary earned will be prorated based on FTE (full-time status).For example at 60% FTE the person hired can expect to receive 60% of the advertised salary.
