Nursing Assistant (Training Provided)

Become a nursing assistant and work for our residents. Start date is July 27th!

*JOB HIGHLIGHTS*

Paid time during class and paid training.

Eligible to sit for GNA and CNA tests post class.

This is a paid nursing assistant training and competency evaluation program to prepare for theNursing Assistant exam. The class runs approximately 4-6 weeks. At the conclusion of the class youwill be required to pass the Nursing Assistant and Geriatric Nursing Assistant exams within 120days in order to be considered for continued employment. The certified Geriatric Nursing Assistantprovides the activities of daily living care to the residents under licensed staff supervision.

1. Treats all information about residents their condition and family as confidential information.

2. Complies with established policies and procedures and maintains established standards andpractices.

3. Assists in or provides for the maintenance of individual personal hygiene i.e. bathing shavingchanging clothing nail care toilet needs etc.

4. Provides clean dry linen and makes beds to meet resident needs.

5. Encourages proper resident nutrition by serving food promptly and assists with feeding whennecessary.

6. Performs resident treatments as assigned by the Team Leader and within the nursing scope ofpractice.

7. Records resident information concisely accurately and completely and reports to the TeamLeader objective observations of change in resident condition or need.

8. Actively participates in resident care planning.

9. Promotes activities of daily living according to the residents care plan.

10. Resident lifts and transfers will be done according to the residents care plan and the LiftFreeProgram.

1. Ability to lift and transfer 30 pounds of resident weight frequently (30 times) throughout theshift.

2. Ability to stand walk bend stoop twist and turn constantly throughout an eight (8) hour shift.

3. Organizational skills and ability to do sequential events.

4. Listed on the state registry as a Geriatric Nursing Assistant within 120 days of employment.

5. Motivation and desire to work with the geriatric population.

6. Ability to speak English at a level the residents can understand.

7. Ability to read and write in English to carry out functions related to the care plans and providesappropriate resident care.

Must be able to constantly work on their feet during an 8-hour shift bend stoop twist and turnconstantly throughout the shift in performing regular duties. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds ofresident weight and/or transfer and reposition a resident at least 30 times throughout the shift. Must beable to react quickly and decisively in emergencies and in response to the unexpected behavior ofresidents either during lifting or repositioning or during other frequent occasions when having directcontact with residents. Must be able to handle the physical transfer of residents from unsafe to saferlocations in the event of a fire or other disaster. Ability to do sequential events/tasks.
