Nursing Assistant - Progressive Care Unit

Part-Time 7a - 7p

Will be required to cover duties as a Unit Secretary and undergo cross-training.

The Nursing Assistant performs designated tasks in the provision of age-appropriate care for patients under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.

  • Obtains and documents reported height and weighs patient on admission and documents.

  • Turns and positions patients every 2 hours as indicated using proper body mechanics.

  • Assists and promotes activity ambulation up in chair and other activities as ordered.

  • Assists patients with personal hygiene including as showering bathing shaving shampooing perianal-care catheter care and oral care.

  • Takes and records vital signs accurately within established time frame.

  • Consistently performs hourly rounds to ensure patient safety and promote customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Nursing License (CNA) preferred.

  • Six months experience in a hospital or long-term care facility preferred.
