Job Summary

Job Title: Nurse Practitioner Oncology

Location: Syracuse NY 13210
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Day Shift 5x8 Hours (8:00 AM 4:30 PM)

Compensation:
  • Traveler Pay: $100$107/hr based on experience
  • Local Pay: $80$88/hr based on experience
Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Oncology Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide high-quality patient care within a collaborative healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have oncology experience strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to work closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive patient care plans.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with attending physicians to perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
  • Provide direct patient care within an oncology setting
  • Document patient care accurately and timely within the electronic medical record
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses treatment plans medications and follow-up care
  • Utilize prescriptive authority in collaboration with supervising physicians
  • Perform acute care patient functions with minimal orientation and supervision
  • Monitor patient responses to treatments and adjust care plans as appropriate
  • Coordinate care with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support optimal patient outcomes
  • Maintain compliance with patient safety confidentiality and healthcare regulations
  • Deliver compassionate patient-centered oncology care in a fast-paced clinical environment
Required Qualifications:
Licensure & Certifications:
  • Active New York State Nurse Practitioner License and Registration with specialty certification consistent with practice area
    OR
  • Active New York State Physician Assistant License/Registration or NCCPA Certification/Eligibility
  • Medicare NPI Number or eligibility to apply
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Current ACLS Certification
Experience:
  • Minimum 1 year of Oncology experience required
  • Prior inpatient experience strongly preferred

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent clinical assessment and critical-thinking abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills
  • Commitment to delivering compassionate high-quality patient care
Additional Requirements:
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment health clearance
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced oncology care environment
  • Strong patient education and care coordination skills
