Nurse Practitioner (Neonatal) Pediatrics

Job Summary
Provides advanced clinical care to premature critically ill and medically complex newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and affiliated newborn care settings. Works collaboratively with neonatologists nurses respiratory therapists and multidisciplinary team members to deliver evidence-based neonatal care.
Hours:
Full-time; 24-hour shifts and 12-hour shifts (6:30 AM-6:30 PM).

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive assessment diagnosis and management of neonatal patients in the NICU setting.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to critically ill and premature infants.
- Preform advanced neonatal procedures including intubation line placement lumbar puncture and neonatal resuscitation.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with families regarding patient status treatment plans and education.
- Participate in delivery attendance for high-risk births.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation via EPIC EMR.
- Support quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based neonatal practices.

Required Qualifications:
- APN licensure or ability to successfully obtain licensure within three months of date of hire.
- Certain/additional certifications may be necessary based on area of specialty.
- Basic Life Support certification (Online Basic Life Support certifications those without a skills assessment component are not sufficient to meet the Basic Life Support requirement).
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters or Doctoral degree from an accredited Neonatal Nurse Practitioner program.
Current Missouri APRN license or eligibility for licensure.
National certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP-BC).
Current NRP certification.
Experience in Level III or Level IV NICU settings.
Strong clinical judgement communication and teamwork skills.
Commitment to patient-centered and family-focused care.
Ability to manage high-acuity neonatal patients in coordination with the 24/7 in house neonatologist.
Delivery room experience.
Education:
