Job Summary
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Nurse Practitioner provides anesthesia care across a variety of clinical settings within Boston Medical Center. This role is responsible for delivering safe effective anesthesia services in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams ensuring compliance with institutional policies and regulatory standards.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
- Masters degree or higher from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Clinical experience sufficient to independently perform preoperative assessment patient education care coordination and documentation within the nurse practitioner scope of practice.
- Experience evaluating adult patients with common acute and chronic medical conditions in a hospital ambulatory surgical perioperative internal medicine emergency medicine critical care cardiology or procedural setting.
CERTIFICATIONS LICENSES REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
- Current or eligible Massachusetts Nurse Practitioner license.
- Current national board certification as a Nurse Practitioner in an appropriate population focus such as Adult-Gerontology Family Acute Care or other area acceptable to the department and credentialing process.
- Current BLS certification.
- Massachusetts Controlled Substances Registration and federal DEA registration as applicable to clinical practice and institutional requirements.
- Eligibility for appointment credentialing and privileging as an Advanced Practice Provider at Boston Medical Center Brighton as applicable.
- Current ACLS certification or ability to obtain within a timeframe determined by the department.
- Additional certification or training relevant to perioperative medicine internal medicine critical care cardiology anesthesia or surgical patient optimization.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 12 years clinical nursing experience ideally in a critical care or acute care setting.

Commitment to patient safety quality care and professional development.
Exceptional critical thinking decision-making and problem-solving abilities particularly in high pressure situations.
In-depth knowledge of anesthesia principles techniques medications and equipment.
Proficiency in utilizing anesthesia technology monitoring devices and electronic medical records systems.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with diverse healthcare professionals and interact with patients and their families.
Commitment to ongoing professional development maintaining up-to-date knowledge of currentanesthesia practices research and advancements.
Compensation Range:
$109000.00- $158000.00This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer.
