Job Duties:
The Nurse Manager is responsible for organizing and supervising the staff in their department programs budgets schedules payroll and equipment. They are to provide leadership through communication and relationship-building a strong knowledge of the health care environment and business skills. The Nurse Manager functions as an extension of the Director of their department by implementing policies procedures and standards of the hospital within the unit managed.
About the Unit:
The 2D Neuro unit specializes in providing exceptional high-quality care to adult patients. Our team delivers personalized patient-centered care in a collaborative and supportive environment. We work closely as an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals supported by dedicated providers and ancillary staff to ensure outstanding outcomes for both patients and caregivers. Common neuroscience diagnoses include ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes transient ischemic attacks (TIAs) seizures and epilepsy degenerative neurological disorders autoimmune conditions and other central nervous system disorders. As a certified Primary Stroke Center we are recognized for delivering state-of-the-art stroke care and excellence in neuroscience nursing.
Qualifications:
Graduate of accredited BSN or MSN program.
Masters degree preferred; If no current Masters degree and not pursuing must obtain national certification in leadership within 2 years.
Three (3) years nursing experience required.
One (1) year charge nurse or supervisory experience required.
BLS for Healthcare Provider required.
National specialty certification and/or National certification in Nursing Leadership preferred.
