Nurse Director Labor & Delivery Antenatal Services Department

Join Brigham and Womens Hospital and help define the future of womens health maternal-fetal care and nursing leadership.
Full time 40 hours Main Campus Boston.

The Opportunity:
Lead one of the regions most advanced inpatient obstetric programs.
Oversee: 23-bed Labor & Delivery Unit 12-bed Antenatal Unit 4 Obstetric Operating Rooms 8 Obstetric Triage Rooms.
Provide strategic operational financial and clinical leadership.
Partner closely with physicians advanced practice providers and interdisciplinary leaders to advance care and ensure a caring healing and collaborative environment.
Shape the future of maternal-fetal nursing care within a nationally recognized medical center.

What Youll Do:
Provide Strategic and Operational Leadership
Lead the overall clinical operational financial and strategic direction of Labor & Delivery and Antenatal Service.
Foster an environment of inclusivity collaboration psychological safety trust and respect for patients families and interdisciplinary clinicians and colleagues.
Drive quality improvement safety patient-experience and exceptional clinical outcomes as well as compliance and accreditation readiness.
Contribute to developing refining implementing Department of Nursing vision practice model and aligning with MGB goals
Collaborate in creation annual operating budgets including proposals for new initiatives and ongoing monitoring.

Lead and Develop High-Performing Teams
Lead workforce engagement recruitment retention team building and succession planning.
Mentor and develop nursing leaders and frontline staff.
Design and adapt staffing to be responsive to dynamic care environment.
Responsible for the supervision of an assistant nurse director registered nurses surgical technicians and others as directed.
Reports to the Associate Chief Nurse Nursing and Clinical Services of the designated areas.
Work schedule is primarily days with 24/7 accountability.

Partner closely with physicians advanced practice providers and interdisciplinary leaders to advance care and ensure a caring healing and collaborative environment.
Creates an environment that supports and celebrates the professional growth of nursing practice at all levels of experience.
Advance evidence-based practice innovation and nursing scholarship.


Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 1. Current registration/licensure in nursing in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

  • 2. MSN DNP PhD or BSN with a Masters degree in a related field required.

  • 3. Current certification required or to be attained within two years from date of hire. Certification must be maintained while employed in this position.

  • 4. Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in Womens Health.

  • 5. Demonstrated evidence of exemplary nursing practice in Labor and Delivery.

  • 6. Three years labor and delivery nursing experience preferred.

  • 7. Recent experience as a nurse leader responsible for collaboration in a highly matrixed leadership structure helpful.

  • 8. Experience with labor relations preferred.
