Location: Trinity Health Livonia

Shift: Contingent - Rotating Shift

Position Purpose:

Certified technologist to cover on-call weekend coverage weekday coverage and Holiday coverage for technologist on medical leave. Able to perform nuclear medicine procedures quality control and venipuncture as needed by the department.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a school of Nuclear Medicine Technology.

  • A baccalaureate degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology is desirable.

  • Must be registered by one of the following registries: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).

  • A registry eligible individual is assigned a somewhat lower status pending certification. Employee has 90 days in which to become registered.

  • Must fulfill education requirements above.

  • Prior experience in a busy hospital setting is highly desirable.

  • Experience with SPECT is highly desirable.

  • Experience with Nuclear Cardiology is highly desirable.

What the Nuclear Med Technologist will do:

  • Prepares diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals.

  • Administers radiopharmaceuticals to patients after explaining procedure and obtaining complete patient history.

  • Physically assists patients in assuming required imaging positions to ensure that complete diagnostic studies are obtained.

  • Calibrates and operates thyroid uptake systems Geiger counters dose calibrators and other departmental equipment.

  • Calibrates and operates computerized imaging systems including SPECT to image process and photograph patient studies.

  • Develops film and reviews them with Radiologist. Follows departmental safety policies including infection control and radiation safety.
