Position Summary
Serve as the Responsible Engineer and primary technical owner for multiple new product development programs leading technical execution from concept through qualification production launch and production support. The engineer will translate customer specifications into compliant designs lead cross-functional execution and provide technical leadership while working independently across multiple concurrent programs.
Primary Responsibilities
Serve as Responsible Engineer and technical owner for multiple concurrent NPD programs.
Interpret customer specifications and translate requirements into compliant engineering solutions and compliance matrices.
Design mechanical components mechanisms actuators and assemblies from concept through production.
Develop engineering drawings documentation and technical data packages.
Lead prototype development hands-on troubleshooting qualification testing and production launch.
Develop and execute Design of Experiments (DOE) engineering validation and qualification test plans.
Perform structural analysis FEA failure investigations root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
Present technical status design reviews (PDR/CDR) risks and test results to customers and internal leadership.
Lead technical execution independently while coordinating with Manufacturing Test Quality and Program Management.
Provide technical leadership and mentor less experienced engineers.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline required; Masters preferred.
6 years of progressively responsible mechanical product development experience preferred.
Demonstrated mechanical design experience with components mechanisms or actuators.
Ability to interpret customer specifications and develop compliant designs (required).
Experience applying DOE (required).
Experience using FEA or comparable structural simulation tools (required).
Strong analytical troubleshooting and failure investigation skills.
Experience supporting qualification testing and engineering validation.
GD&T DFMEA/FMEA DFMA and statistical analysis preferred.
Aerospace defense automotive or similar regulated product development experience preferred.
Experience qualifying products to MIL-DTL-23659 or similar military standards strongly preferred.
Excellent communication skills with customers and cross-functional teams.
