The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) is charged with implementing the states public school laws for pre-kindergarten through 12th grade public schools at the direction of the State Superintendent of Public Instruction and State Board of Education.
Description of Work
This position provides regional Career and Technical Education (CTE) coordination support and services for PSU CTE personnel (administrators support staff and teachers) in the districts assigned.Job Responsibilities:
Facilitate the implementation of the CTE Course Inventory; providing technical assistance to PSUs on CTE issues.
Monitor LEA compliance with applicable regulations laws policies and procedures.
Facilitate processes for PSU local applications for CTE Planning and Performance Management.
Serve as the liaison for NC Prosperity Zones as assigned; and other duties as assigned by the CTE Director.
Provide local regional and statewide professional development opportunities to increase skills and knowledge of participants using multiple learning opportunities.
Collaborate with the DPI staff; facilitating and/or providing professional development and updates to CTE personnel in PSUs. serving as the liaison for NC Prosperity Zones as assigned.
Valid Driver License is required.

Manager Preferences:
- Experience as a CTE Director at a Public-School Unit (PSU) is preferred.
- 711 CTE Director License preferred

Primary Purpose of the Career and Technical Education Division:
The Career and Technical Education Division is to provide leadership technical assistance curriculum development and accountability for grades 6-12 in North Carolina public schools for students to be ready for careers and postsecondary education. The Division has content consultants in the areas of Agriculture Education; Business Finance and Marketing Education; Computer Science and Information Technology Education; Health Science Education; Family and Consumer Sciences Education; Trade Technology Engineering and Industrial Education; Career Development; Curriculum Management; Civil Rights; Special Populations; Planning and Performance Management; and Regional Coordination. The Division serves as the Agencys contact for the Community College Systems articulation with Perkins legislation and accountability. The Career and Technical Education staff provides leadership service and accountability to local schools for Career and Technical Education programs and comprehensive career development. Services provided include policy development and interpretation curriculum development personnel and management of career and technical student organizations. Leadership includes maintaining partnerships with business/industry governmental agencies and trade organizations and associations.
Minimum Education and Experience
