Job Summary

POSITION: Registered Nurse

LOCATION: NICU

SCHEDULE: Night shift every 3rd weekend required

POSITION SUMMARY:

Registered Nurses in NICU provide the highest quality of care to our diverse patient population. Our NICU team has a strong quality improvement focus and our nurses are always developing unique solutions for their patients.

As a NICU nurse you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional care. Using our patient-centered care model you will be uplifted by a supportive nursing organization and will be able to deliver the excellent care to your patients that they deserve.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver exceptional nursing care in the including assessing diagnosing planning intervening evaluating and educating patients
  • Communicate with various health care team members patients and their families
  • Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues
  • Update and manage patient records
  • Enter and interpret computerized data/information
  • Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC Brighton nursing organization
  • Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Nursing degree: Diploma ASN or BSN (preferred) Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
  • Certification in basic life support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life support(ACLS) certification required within 90 days of hire
  • Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certification required within 90 days of hire (offered during orientation)
  • Association of Womens Health Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) Intermediate or Advance Certification required within 8 weeks of hire.
  • 1 year experience NICU required
  • 2 years level 3 NICU experience preferred
  • Experience with electronic health record preferred
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Fluency in another language a plus.

Compensation Range:

$39.80- $93.69

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer.
