Job Summary
We are seeking a NICET Level II Fire Alarm Technician to install inspect test maintain and troubleshoot fire alarm and life safety systems. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience strong knowledge of NFPA codes and the ability to work independently while ensuring compliance with local and national regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install program test and troubleshoot fire alarm systems
- Perform routine inspections and testing in accordance with NFPA 72 standards
- Diagnose system malfunctions and perform necessary repairs
- Read and interpret blueprints schematics and wiring diagrams
- Complete and maintain accurate service reports and documentation
- Ensure systems meet code compliance and AHJ requirements
- Provide technical support and training to junior technicians
- Coordinate with project managers contractors and clients
- Maintain tools equipment and inventory
Required Qualifications
- NICET Level II Certification in Fire Alarm Systems (required)
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on fire alarm experience
- Working knowledge of:
- NFPA 72 (Fire Alarm Code)
- Basic electrical systems and wiring
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with major fire alarm systems (e.g. Honeywell Siemens Notifier Simplex)
- State or local fire alarm licenses (if applicable)
- OSHA safety training
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Work on ladders lifts and in confined spaces
- Ability to stand bend and walk for extended periods
