POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Director of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) Services provides leadership oversight and strategic support to BCHs I/DD Programs. This position partners closely with the Director of I/DD Services to ensure high-quality person-centered services that promote dignity independence and well-being for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Assistant Director ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements supports program growth and upholds the Christian mission and values of Baptist Childrens Homes of NC Inc. They fulfill other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
Personal commitment to Jesus Christ and alignment with the statement of faith of BCH
Bachelors degree in Human Services Social Work Psychology Special Education or related field required; Masters degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in I/DD services including supervisory of leadership responsibly.
Knowledge of North Carolina I/DD regulations waiver services and service delivery systems preferred.
Skills & Abilities
Strong leadership organizational and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to supervise and support professional staff.
Knowledge of person-centered planning and trauma-informed care.
Ability to analyze data manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic health record systems.
Ability to travel statewide as required.
Assure staff coverage in the residential homes.
PRN Direct Care coverage as needed.
Other Requirements
Valid North Carolina drivers license with acceptable driving record.
Successful completion of background checks and other pre-employment requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Leadership & Support
Assist in the oversight of I/DD residential and/or support services to ensure high-quality person-centered care
Support the development implementation and evaluation of program services policies and procedures.
Promote best practices in services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Serve as acting Director of I/DD Services in the Directors absence as assigned.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
Ensure programs comply with all applicable federal state and local regulations including NC DHHS and Medicaid waiver requirements.
Support licensure accreditation audits and surveys; assist in developing and implementing corrective action plans as needed.
Monitor quality assurance indicators and assist with continuous PQI/KPI improvement initiatives.
Complies with HIPAA and agency procedures concerning confidentiality.
Staff Leadership & Development
Support program administrators and supervisors through coaching consultation and program-solving.
Assist with recruitment onboarding training and retention of qualified staff.
Promote a culture of accountability teamwork and professional growth.
Provide guidance in employee relations matters in coordination with Human Resources.
Budget & Administrative Support
Assist with program budgeting financial oversight and resource allocation.
Monitor expenditures and support fiscal responsibility across I/DD programs.
Contribute to strategic planning and program expansion efforts.
Collaboration & Advocacy
Collaborate with community partners families guardians and referral sources
Advocate for individuals served and assist in resolving concerns or grievances.
Represent BCH I/DD Services at meetings trainings and community events as needed
Mission Integration
Support and model the Christian mission values and ethical standards of Baptist Childrens Homes of North Carolina.
Ensure services are delivered in a manner that respects the dignity worth and spiritual needs of individuals served.

EQUIPMENT:
Ability to operate standard office machines such as copier computer fax calculator etc. Ability to work within Outlook Excel and Word software programs.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read write and complete necessary documentation. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from coworkers service recipients licensing and other oversight contacts and various other stakeholders in a variety of situations and formats.

CONTACT WITH OTHERS:
Regular contact with colleagues in all departments as well as with outside individuals and groups; should represent Baptist Childrens Homes of NC a positive manner. Contacts outside of the agency where proper handling of situations is of utmost importance as the agencys image could be affected.

MENTAL / VISUAL / AUDITORY DEMAND:
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form and ability to draw conclusions. Must be able to productively relate to and interact with individuals facing a variety of mental and emotional health situations such as are involved with providing Baptist Childrens Homes of NC programming. Must recognize and demonstrate sufficient resiliency so as to be effective in serving such program participants.

CONFIDENTIAL DATA:
Complies with agency policies and procedures concerning confidentiality and HIPPA regulations involving all aspects of client information which include day to day care of the children case records family information medical information psychological services etc which if disclosed would have adverse internal and/or external effect and could result in termination of employment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position must be able to lift carry and maneuver up to 50 pounds regularly. The position will be required to sit and stand for long periods of times while performing tasks. You must be able to use hands and fingers walk long distances and reach with hands and arms.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position my involved time spent in residential settings offices and community locations. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
