Job Summary

The Department of Neurosurgery at Yale School of Medicine is accepting applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of computational neuroscience and neuroengineering. We seek an innovative and collaborative investigator with a strong commitment to advancing data-driven approaches to brain modeling and translational neuroscience.


The candidate will be expected to develop an independent externally funded research program while contributing to interdisciplinary initiatives across neuroscience engineering and clinical domains. This position emphasizes the development and application of advanced machine learning techniques to multimodal brain data and their translation into clinically meaningful insights.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing advanced deep learning algorithms for the integration of multimodal brain data including structural and functional neuroimaging electrophysiological recordings (e.g. intracranial and scalp EEG) and behavioral measures to enable large-scale brain modeling. They will design and optimize personalized brain modeling pipelines incorporating approaches such as self-supervised learning to support subject-specific digital twin addition the candidate will collaborate closely with neuroscientists engineers and clinical teams to translate computational outputs into interpretable visualizations and predictive tools that inform neuromodulation strategies and therapeutic decision-making.



Applicants must hold a PhD MD or equivalent degree in neuroscience biomedical engineering computer science or a closely related discipline and demonstrate expertise in machine learning deep learning and computational modeling. Experience with multimodal neuroimaging and/or electrophysiological data analysis is required along with a strong record of scholarly productivity and clear potential to secure extramural research funding.
