Neurosurgeon

We are seeking a Neurosurgeon for a long-term contract opportunity providing comprehensive onsite neurosurgical care to Veterans at a major medical center. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside an experienced VA medical team in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment focused on high-quality patient care surgical excellence and continuous improvement.

• SICU and inpatient postoperative management

• Full support from an experienced VA medical team

• Participation in quality improvement and clinical education activities

• 24/7 neurosurgical call coverage

• Provide outpatient neurosurgical consultations evaluations and follow-up care.

• Perform operative neurosurgical procedures including spinal and cranial surgeries.

• Provide intraoperative management and postoperative care.

• Conduct postoperative rounds in the SICU and inpatient wards.

• Perform inpatient neurosurgical consultations including bedside evaluations of non-ambulatory patients.

• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans discharge instructions and follow-up care.

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the VA electronic medical record.

• Participate in morbidity and mortality conferences quality improvement initiatives and other clinical activities.

• Provide neurosurgical call coverage as required including urgent consultation and onsite response.

• MondayFriday: 7:00 AM5:00 PM onsite clinical and OR coverage

• Weekends: Inpatient rounding as needed

• Call: 24/7 neurosurgical call coverage

• Telephone response: Within 15 minutes

• Onsite response: Within 60 minutes when required
