Job Summary
NewGen Technologies has an opening for a Tier II Network Technicianto support the customers computer data communications systems in providing design specifications testing and inspections for computer networks; plan and implementing upgrades; as well as analyzing and organizing corresponding hardware and software combined solutions through network modeling.
100% onsite in Aurora CO
Responsibilities
- Support the installation and maintenance of the client LAN/WAN devices
- Respond to and resolve incidents demonstrate troubleshooting skills and communicate with the team
- Complete assigned tasks within Service Level Objectives/Agreements (SLOs/SLAs)
- Draft and implement standard network change requests
- Provide support to Tier III network engineers for incident management and projects (site surveys TEMS coordinate and install new equipment)
- Perform configuration management functions such as update topology drawings ensure asset management records are accurate and conduct inventory
- Coordinate network operations maintenance repairs or upgrades. (Knowledge of CISCO/Juniper RMA process)
- Layer 1 network experience (CAT5/6 SM/MM Fiber Serial cables SFP)
- Layer 2 network experience (ability to configure/troubleshoot switches/routers MAC addresses VLANs port security applying thin and thick configs.
- Layer 3 network experience (subnetting familiar with protocols such as OSPF BGP HSRP MPLS LSP GRE)
- Configure and troubleshoot layer 2 switching (VLANs Port Security Thin Configs.)
- Perform IOS upgrades for Cisco Juniper Brocade and Foundry OS.
- Experience with Visio
- Familiar with ServiceNow and Confluence
- May have up to 10% COMSEC responsibilities based on site and team needs
Requirements
- TS/SCI CI Poly Clearance
- Candidate must have 10 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education. This equates to a Doctorate and 3 years masters and 4 years bachelors and 6 years associates and 8 years or HS diploma and 10 years.
- Compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2
- Available to travel up to 20% of the time
- Available to work flexible hours to include weekend support
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment
