Network System Engineer

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Unix OS System Engineer for a hybrid position (3 days onsite per week) with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte NC Jersey City NJ or Plano TX. This is a contract opportunity.

This role is responsible for designing building and testing an automated RHEL OS provisioning solution for internal cloud compute environments. The engineer will work hands-on with cloud computing platforms MS Windows Server and Linux systems to deliver automated workflows validate platform integrations and ensure system reliability using modern automation and testing practices.

Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver automated RHEL OS provisioning for on-prem or internal cloud compute environments
• Build maintainable automation tools and workflows using shell scripting and Python
• Integrate OS provisioning with internal cloud services such as virtualization platforms networking identity monitoring and configuration systems
• Support automated provisioning validation and deployment using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and CI/CD pipelines
• Focus on continuous testing and reliability including automated validation integration testing and failure troubleshooting
• Collaborate effectively with platform operations SRE and security teams to deliver reliable and scalable automation solutions

Requirements:

• 5 years of experience in platform systems or infrastructure engineering with a strong emphasis on automation and integration
• Strong Linux (RHEL) administration expertise including OS installation configuration patching services networking storage security and troubleshooting
• Proficiency in shell scripting and Python
• Experience with automation and configuration management platforms (e.g. Ansible or equivalent)
• Working knowledge of Windows Server to support cross-platform workflows and integrations
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and CI/CD pipelines
• Hands-on experience with Linux OS provisioning and internals

• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
• Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
• Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform certifications
• HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
• Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
• Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ 400)
• CompTIA Security or equivalent security fundamentals certification

Pay range: $60.24 - $68.24per hour
