Network Security Analyst I Cloud Vulnerability Remediation
Location: Austin TX 78744 Pay Rate: $53-63/hr

About the Role
Step into a pivotal cloud security position as a Network Security Analyst I. You will play a critical role in identifying assessing and remediating vulnerabilities within enterprise cloud environments to protect systems reduce risk and maintain compliance. Collaborate with cross-functional cloud security and application teams while developing your expertise in a fast-paced growth-oriented organization.

Responsibilities

- Review analyze and prioritize vulnerability findings across cloud-hosted resources using approved security tools
- Assess risk impact and applicability for cloud infrastructure and supporting components
- Plan and execute remediation actions including patching configuration changes and security hardening to ensure timely closure
- Perform and validate cloud-based patching and updates for supported workloads
- Implement cloud security configuration changes where vendor patches are unavailable
- Create update and maintain remediation tasks and records to support audit and compliance requirements
- Ensure all remediation activities adhere to established change management and validation processes
- Provide remediation status updates and supporting evidence for audits and leadership reviews
- Support temporary mitigations or compensating controls when permanent fixes are not immediately available
- Partner with Security Cloud Architecture and Application teams to resolve complex vulnerabilities
- Recommend improvements by identifying recurring issues or process gaps
- Contribute to enterprise efforts to reduce technical debt and enhance overall cloud security posture

Required Skills and Experience

- Minimum 3 years of professional IT experience with hands-on exposure to cloud infrastructure system administration or vulnerability remediation
- Experience supporting cloud-hosted systems in at least one enterprise cloud environment
- Solid understanding of vulnerability remediation methods: patching configuration hardening compensating controls
- Familiarity with IT service management and change processes
- Strong analytical and documentation skills
- Ability to follow defined security and remediation procedures
- Effective communication and collaboration capabilities

Preferred Skills

- Exposure to enterprise vulnerability management processes and remediation SLAs
- Knowledge of cloud security posture management security baselines risk reporting
- Relevant cloud or security certifications
