Position Overview

Telecommunications Systems Technician is responsible for the maintenance sustainment and support of various communication systems and equipment including High Frequency (HF) Ultra-high Frequency (UHF) and Very-high Frequency (VHF) and associated support components such as antenna systems cabling amplifiers and more. This position requires experience in unclassified and classified communication systems and a strong knowledge of telecommunications services such as phone systems fax data networks video teleconferencing and satellite phone and radio systems. Additionally the technician is expected to be familiar with government-specific emergency telecommunications services including GETS (Government Emergency Telecommunications Service) WPS (Wireless Priority Service) and TSP (Telecommunications Service Priority). This position will also provide back-office support to assist and collaborate on accomplishing the requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Networking Sustainment:
    • Assist in the installation configuration and testing of routers switches firewalls and wireless access points.
    • Basic understanding of the OSI model TCP/IP switching routing protocols (like OSPF or EIGRP) and basic VLAN configurations.
  • Radio System Sustainment:
    • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on Codan Envoy V2 (HF) and L3Harris (UHF TACSAT/LOS) radio systems.
    • Maintain and repair associated support equipment including antennasand RF over Fiber systems cabling and amplifiers.
    • Ensure the reliability and availability of HF and UHFradio systems for secure and non-secure communication.
  • Telephone Systems:
    • Manage unclassified and classified telephone systems ensuring they are operational and secure.
    • Provide maintenance and support for all related hardware and software components.
  • Voice over Internet Phone (VoIP):
    • Administer and support classified VoIP systems ensuring secure and efficient voice communication.
  • Fax Services:
    • Maintain and support unclassified and classified fax services ensuring timely and secure transmission of documents.
  • Data Networks:
    • Oversee the operation of unclassified and classified data networks including hardware software and network security.
  • Video Teleconferencing:
    • Maintain and troubleshoot unclassified and classified video teleconferencing systems to ensure seamless communication.
  • Satellite Phone and Radio Systems:
    • Manage and sustain satellite phone and radio systems providing connectivity in remote and challenging environments.
  • GETS WPS and TSP:
    • Facilitate access to government-specific emergency telecommunications services such as GETS WPS and TSP when necessary.
Required Experience/Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience is required.
  • Industry-standard foundational certifications like CompTIA Network/Security
  • Familiarity withHF UHF and VHFradio systems including Codan Envoy V2 and L3Harris.
  • Proficiency in unclassified and classified communication systems and associated equipment.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications services including phone systems VoIP fax data networks video teleconferencing and satellite (Iridium/Starlink)communications.

Travel Requirements:

  • Be willing to travel up to 1 week per month from within the United States to support executive telecommunications.
  • Be responsible for maintaining telecommunications deployment packages for rapid CONUS travel.
Preferred Experience/Qualifications
  • History of solo RTO VIP/Executive telecommunications experience in a frequent/rapid deployment environment.
  • Experience handling COMSEC material
  • Self-sufficient telecommunications expert capable of providing reliable communications support to federal executives in a high-stress environment.
Special Requirements/Security Clearance
  • Active Top Secret or Q Clearance
Salary Range

Salary Minimum: $90000

Salary Maximum: $140000
