Network Engineer (Level 2) Watchfloor (EveningsWeekdays)

The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking a skilled and experienced Network Engineer (Level 2) to join our dynamic team to support a DoD client in Suitland MD. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering and design with a focus on Department of Defense (DoD) communication systems and networks. This role requires evening and weekday availability for watch floor responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Network Configuration and Maintenance:

• Configure and maintain Cisco networks including routers and switches.

• Perform routine maintenance and updates to ensure network stability and performance.

• Troubleshooting:

• Diagnose and resolve network issues promptly to minimize downtime.

• Implement solutions to prevent recurring problems.

• Network Security:

• Ensure the security of the network by implementing best practices and protocols.

• Monitor network traffic for unusual activities and potential security threats.

• Performance Optimization:

• Optimize network performance through continuous monitoring and adjustments.

• Conduct regular performance reviews and implement improvements as needed.

• Documentation:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations procedures and troubleshooting steps.

• Collaboration:

• Work closely with other IT teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless network operations.

• Provide technical support and guidance to junior team members.

Qualifications:

• BS or BA degree in Engineering an Engineering Discipline or in a Technical Discipline is desired.

• At least four (4) years of practical engineering and design experience in DoD communication systems and networks.

• Proven experience in configuring and maintaining Cisco networks.

• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex network issues.

• In-depth knowledge of network security principles and practices.

• Experience in optimizing network performance.

• CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)

• Security CE (CompTIA Security with Continuing Education)

• Active TS/SCI clearance is required.

Pay Range:
