Job Summary
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Network Design & Deployment Design configure and deploy core and edge networking infrastructure including routers switches firewalls circuits and related network services to deliver standardized secure compartmentalized and scalable connectivity across corporate and venue environments.
- Site Standardization Perform network discovery and document existing infrastructure at newly acquired or transitioned sites. Lead site cutovers to Smart City-owned infrastructure including MDF/IDF migrations core network replacements and retirement of legacy and third-party platforms to ensure consistency across Smart City venues.
- Technical Escalation & Service Recovery Act as a Tier 2/Tier 3 point of escalation for NOC and field operations staff. Take ownership of complex tickets perform root-cause analysis and drive technical resolution of service-impacting issues. Develop and implement standardized solutions with minimal supervision. Coordinate with carriers vendors and technical support organizations to troubleshoot and resolve service-impacting issues.
- Routing Switching & Network Services Provision and troubleshoot network connectivity including switching routing BGP peering route filtering multicast services IPSEC tunnels firewall services NAT DHCP and DNS as well as related network infrastructure to meet client and business requirements while maintaining service reliability and company standards.
- Platform Migrations Plan and execute IOS-XE and platform upgrades across the fleet using Catalyst Center SWIM and related technologies. Develop publish and validate repeatable company-wide upgrade and migration procedures.
- Monitoring & Management Platforms Administer and refine Cisco Catalyst Center monitoring systems (e.g. AKiPS) and related tooling; manage RBAC reporting firewall rules and VLANs and coordinate with Cisco TAC and engineering on advanced service requests.
- Event Technology Support Support client events and venue technology operations through service readiness validation infrastructure implementation design consultation and advanced troubleshooting. Prioritize event-impacting issues and work toward timely resolution to maintain reliable network services during live events.
- Maintenance Windows Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to identify and schedule appropriate outage windows. Perform network maintenance during approved windows while minimizing service disruption.
- Documentation & Standards Produce and maintain accurate network documentation including Visio topologies rack diagrams IP address schemes public IP usage IDF inventories and Master IP Lists (MIPL). Develop configuration templates and proposed technical standards and evaluate and recommend technologies and best practices that improve Smart Citys network environment.
- Field Support Occasionally travel onsite for surveys walkthroughs infrastructure deployments troubleshooting migrations and support of major client events. Provide rapid diagnostics under pressure during complex event-impacting situations.
- Lab & Validation Environments Build and maintain representative lab environments used to evaluate technologies validate significant configuration changes and reduce deployment risk before production implementation.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent required; Associates or Bachelors degree in a technical field preferred.
- Experience: 4 years in network engineering or advanced network administration with a LAN/WAN focus or equivalent experience.
- Certifications: Current relevant industry certifications required (e.g. CCNA/CCNP). CCNP-level certification or above preferred. Cisco certifications are strongly preferred.
Technical Knowledge
- Hands-on experience with Cisco Catalyst switching platforms and IOS-XE.
- Strong command of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking concepts and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Working knowledge of BGP route filtering multicast and traffic-engineering concepts.
- Experience configuring and managing firewall platforms such as Cisco Firepower and FortiGate.
- Strong understanding of DHCP DNS NAT VPN and IPSEC technologies.
- Experience with network monitoring and management platforms.
- Experience developing technical standards deployment procedures and engineering documentation.
Preferred
- Experience with Cisco Catalyst Center (DNA Center) strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with MikroTik RouterOS.
- Experience with Software Defined Access (SDA) deployments and operations.
- Familiarity with VXLAN EVPN architectures and campus fabric technologies.
- Familiarity with Juniper networking platforms Juniper Mist and Opengear out-of-band management solutions.
- Experience working with carriers to stand up and troubleshoot circuits
- Experience with network automation and scripting.
- Familiarity with virtualization platforms such as VMware ESXi.
- Working knowledge of enterprise wireless networking concepts and troubleshooting.
